Wolf Cancer Full Moon

IMG_0447.PNG

Welcome to the first Full Moon of 2017!

We begin the year off with some potent power!

The name 'Wolf Moon' comes from Indigenous Tribes of North America, who gave names to each of the moons, in relation to their qualities connected to nature and the seasons. This particular moon was when the wolves would appear in the middle of winter, howling with hunger in villages.

Wolf Medicine, representing ‘Teacher’, great wisdom, wildness and inner freedom is beckoning our attention. Maybe you are already feeling it in your bones and are ready to dance and howl! This Wolf Moon reminds us of the importance to express our heart's truth and our wildness, to live feeling free.

Connected with Cancer, this moon mirrors the importance of 'Home'. The home that is our own body temple, our physical dwelling place and being at home on this planet. Caner moon reflects to us the importance of honouring the waters of our physical and emotional bodies and amplifies our deepest soul feelings.

It can illuminate the shadows that need clearing / healing / transforming and with all planets being direct (slowly but surely gaining more momentum) there is much Grace and assistance present for shining into our fullest potential and making way for quantum leaps of awakening within.

Remember, that when we allow our surfacing emotions to be embraced, we open up for deep messages of wisdom to come through us. May we be gentle with ourselves and create some space to be in the supportive energy of this fascinating combo of 'wild hibernation'.

Gemini Cold Moon ~ Super Moon

We have come to the final full moon of the year! On Tuesday, December 13 at 4:05 pm PST | 7:05 pm EST, the moon will be full and in the sign of Gemini. With October, November and December of this year, we've had 3 consecutive Super Moons and this Cold Moon is the culmination of these energies before we enter a powerful 2017.

This last super moon of 2016 in Gemini asks us to illuminate our shadows and take responsibility for any communication that still needs to take place for making amends/ for forgiveness/ for clearings. This may be with yourself or other (including your ancestors). What may need to be shared to feel complete before the year closes?

What else needs to be cleared, cut away, or cleaned up all that is no longer necessary in your life? Just as the leaves fall to allow for the silence and spaciousness of winter, we too must let go to make room for new life...

This Full Moon is also the time for us to gather and rise in the power of our sovereignty to communicate with Spirit and Earth for what we truly wish to amplify. For our lives, for the future, for our families and communities, for the Earth, for the World. This communication can include song, dance, words, actions, and feelings. When we direct the power of our affirmations in this way, we catalyze healing and transformation within and all around us. With our prayers and activated visions, we assist in bringing into being the world we want to live in.

Cold Moon Attributes

  • Tarot: The Sun

  • Herbs: Holly, Fir, Mistletoe

  • Colors: Blood red, White, Silver, Forest green

  • Stones: Turquoise, Blue Topaz, Black Tourmaline; Hematite

  • Animals: Bear, Deer, Wolf, Robin, Snowy owl

  • Goddesses: Ixchel, Kali, Hathor, Hecate, Frigga

  • Medicine: Hibernation; Rebirth of the light; Darkness; Connecting with loved ones; Yule: Winter Solstice; Darkness; Turning within; Shadow work

The 'Cold Moon' traditionally refers to the December Moon, as was tracked by Native American cultures. Some tribes called it Long Nights Moon, referring to the longer nights before Solstice.

Gemini Ritual Suggestions

  • Share: Write a letter or make a phone call to a person that you need to communicate with in to feel complete. Express your truth with heart and sincerity.

  • Burn it: Write a list of the communication/thoughts that are happening inside your head that you are ready to shift. Beliefs, stories, habits, all that you wish to leave behind in 2016. What are you letting go of? Free it up. Give it voice. Let it out. Let it go and burn it (safely) with a candle or campfire or fireplace. Then proceed to ritual below.

  • Stand in your Illuminated Vision: Let your visions come to life! Go deeper from the above ritual. With the space created from what you released, it's now time to get creative with making a 'vision board' of your medium (whether visually with a painting or drawings or dance or write in your journal) and express your truth, dreams and visions, and all that you wish to bring more attention and energy to for yourself and for the planet. Place this out into the moonlight/speak it/sing it during the full moon window.

  • Gem Stone Reminder: Put out your gem stones and jewels in a window or in water for cleansing, renewal, and activation. Place an apple and glass of water in the moonlight and have it for a 'Moon Wisdom' breakfast the next morning.

  • Commune: Gather in an intentional way with loved ones and do any of the above together and create your own. Now can be a powerful time to be with the energy of the collective.

Full Moon rituals can be done the day before, of and after the actual full moon. This is the 3 day potency period. Blessings to you in this wondrous and magical time.

It is also the time for us to gather and rise in the power of our sovereignty and love to communicate with the earth and the waters. Ritual Suggestions

FULL MOON GLOBAL WATER BLESSING FOR SELF LOVE & FOR #STANDINGROCK

Water is sacred. Water is the giver of Life. Water is the transporter of energy. Water is the vehicle for change. Water represents the power of both giving and receiving. Water births new life, hydrates us, cleanses us, washes us, nourishes us. Without water, we would not exist.

Water can receive and hold the vibrations that we emanate through our unique frequencies given by voice, words, intention, and thought. This water is both the living bodies around us as streams, rivers, rains and ocean, as well as the water that we are made up of.

This month's ritual is focused on the power of our Love (Taurus ruled by Venus) with the Waters of our Earth (ruled by the Moon).

This can be done individually or in a group setting. If you can be beside a river, the ocean or a stream, this is the most ideal setting. If not, that is fine too. It is preferable that you be outside. Again, if not, create a lovely setting inside where ever you are.

Items you'll need:

  • Lit candle(s)

  • 2 bowls or 2 cups of water

  • Pen & paper

  • Gemstones or crystals you feel called to (esp the stones mentioned above)

You can use the following as inspiration for your own Water Blessing Ritual. Please feel free to adjust as you see fit, while keeping the integrity of the intention intact.

1  Create sacred space outside on the earth if possible or in your home with lit candles, sage for smudging, and set up an altar (simple or elaborate) with items that are special to you, including gem stones and crystals, flowers, plants, images and art. If you are in a group, gather in a circle and place the altar in the center.

2  If you are outside, stand or sit under the Moon. Allow yourself to feel a direct relationship to Her, as a mover of the living waters of the Earth and within your own body. If you are inside, see if you can be near a window with her moonlight shining through.

3  Feel the earth under your feet and shake out the tension in the body. Smudge yourself/others with sage to wash away the day and purify your energetic body. Do a grounding exercise (such as conscious breathing in silence for a few minutes), to bring you out of mind chatter and into your body and ritual space.

4  Place the 2 bowls or 2 cups of water in front of you, or in the middle of your gathering on the earth or on a table (preferably from a live body of water, if not then use purified water or tap water).

PERSONAL ASPECT OF THE RITUAL

5  Acknowledge what you are grateful for in 3 different areas of your life. Relationship to self, Spiritual Path, Partnership, Career, Family etc... Write down what is it you value about each area and keep this with you or at the altar space during the full moon night. This magnifies your gratitude and creates more abundant gratitude.

6  Then, while being very honest with yourself, identify any habits, thoughts, patterns and behaviors that you are ready to release so you can step more fully into the gratitude/qualities from above.

7  Write down what it is that you want to release onto paper and then one or two at a time, burn it from the fire lit by the candle at the altar. Safety please!

8  Allow yourself to feel the transfer of what you're releasing to the fire of the candle. Then place the burned paper into one of the first bowl or cup of water. If in a group, focus on the 'letting go' into the water. If in a group, can holds hands in a circle while each person as a turn, if that feels good to you.

9  When everyone is complete you can then offer a song or chant related to the power of death and release. You can chant the sacred syllable Om 3 times as you offer these waters of release from the first bowl or cup to the Earth. This signifies the old being composted and used as nourishment for Her sacred soils.

COLLECTIVE ASPECT OF THE RITUAL FOR #STANDING ROCK

10  Bring the 2nd bowl or cup of water into your hands (or who ever wants to go first). Infuse into the water with your intentions and prayers for the waters of earth and the waters of humankind. And especially to our brothers and sisters at Standing Rock in North Dakota at this time. This can be done in silence or with words. It is your authentic intentions from your heart that matter most. This is the most important part of this Water Blessing, as water receives your vibration and frequency.

11  If you are in a group, pass the water around the circle so that each person has a turn to share their vibration and offerings into the water. If this is a large group, you may wish to have 2 bowls going around at once in both directions or have a time keeper so that each person has an equal amount of time to share.

12  When everyone is complete, you can offer a song or chant here in celebration and affirmation of all that was shared that is now infused in the water. You can hold hands and chant Om Lokah Samastah Sukino Bhavantu 9 times or chant for several minutes. This is a Sanskrit prayer that translates to ‘May All Beings Everywhere Be Happy And At Peace’ (pronounced Aum  Low-ka-ha  Sa-mas-ta-ha  Sue-key-no  Bavan-two),

13  You can then offer this sacred water, infused with all your prayers, first to everyone present by taking a little sip of water or simply anointing yourself on the forehead and heart. Make to truly take in and receive the power of the collective blessings within you. Then offer the rest of this water to the body of water you are beside while continuing to chant. As an option you can end with Om Shanti Shanti Shanti 3 times, which translates to Om Peace Peace Peace. Feel the power of your prayers flow into the waters of our Mother Earth. If you are not near a body of water, you can offer the water directly to the Earth beneath you or let it evaporate into the skies.

14  Complete by holding hands (if you are in a group or at your heart if it’s just you) with the words, “In the name of God/Goddess and all that IS, it is done. It is done. It is done. Blessed be, Blessed be. Blessed be. And so it is.” Or, you can use whatever closing feels resonant for you. Celebrate your release, renewal and the power of the water blessing by sharing a food, songs or dancing under the full Moon!

15  You can allow the lit candles to keep burning as a symbol of transformation through the night if it’s safe. The flame is a purifier, and symbolizes the sparks of inspiration and transformation. OR blow out the candle when you are fully complete.

16  If you wish to share inspiration or photo images from any part of your THANKSGIVING FULL MOON WATER BLESSING RITUAL, we welcome you can share in our Facebook Group: Goddess Rising Sisterhood or on Instagram by using the hashtag #goddessrisingsisterhood or #goddessrising

Scorpio Lunar Samhain Rituals

This Dark Moon in Scorpio of October 30th, Lunar Samhain, can be considered 'The Real Hallow's Eve', and is the cross-quarter Holy Day on The Wheel of the Year, half way between Equinox and Solstice. It is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another lunar cycle, seasonal cycle, and solar cycle as we enter into the dark and still time where all creation begins anew.

The Scorpio theme for the next moon cycle is about connecting with the intensity of our passions and emotions that lie in the deep watery realms within our our soul and to FEEL them. To listen to them, greet them, FEEL what wishes to remain, and what is needed to be released and cleared to die a sacred death of our illusions and what may be holding us back. It is a time to dive into our subconscious and affirm our courage to step into the mystery, into the unknown. A time to honour those that walked before us on the path of life and give our respect to our ancestors.

Lunar Samhain Rituals

Take Off The Mask:  Feel into any ways that you may be inauthentic with yourself and any masks that you may be wearing that aren't serving the essence of who you are. Draw or paint these out or write them down and then lay to rest any of the false faces that you may be wearing. In this way, the more you peel away the masks that aren't you, the more you can rise into the truth of who you are, right now, and emerge more fully as your radiant self.

Honour Your Ancestors:  Write down all the things you are grateful for about your lineage. The gifts you have received. The lessons you have learned. Perhaps you may wish to create an altar for your ancestors. In your unique way, create the space to offer gratitude to those that came before you and acknowledge them for the wisdom that now flows through you. They LOVE it if you make something delicious and offer it to them!

Fire Release Ritual:  You may also wish to connect with the parts of your lineage that may be less than joy filled. If you desire, you can get in touch with the part of you that feels feels angry, sad, frustrated and confused about what your blood line or lineage has passed down to you and offer this into the fires of transmutation (by literally building a fire or safely using a candle). You can write these down or say them out loud, or both. Then, move your body and make any desired sounds to finalize the release. When complete, you can offer any authentic words of forgiveness, empathy and realizations.

Empty The Mind. Feel Into Your Dreams:  Give yourself the gift of moving from your head to your heart. It's an auspicious time to FEEL your dreams. Your goals. Your desires. Scorpio is all about feeling. Bring any visuals or ideas about what you'd like to experience for your life into the visceral experience of your body. In this way, you are sending out messages to the universe to magnify these experiences into your life. Take some time to literally experience how your desires and dreams FEEL in your body. This is truly the magick of creating your life.

Aries Hunter Super Moon

This Aries Super Moon (which means that it is closer to the Earth than usual, making it appear larger) sparks new potential, passion, play and possibilities on Oct 15 9:23pm PST/Oct 16 12:23am EST. Also called the Blood Moon, this Full Hunter's Moon comes from the approach of winter signaled the possibility of going hungry in pre-Industrial times. This moon was generally associated with great honour, serving as an important feast day in both northern Europe and among many Native American tribes.

Traditionally, Native American hunters used the full moon of October to stalk deer to prepare for the coming winter. Because the fields were traditionally harvested in late September or early October, hunters could also easily see deer and foxes (and other animals) that came out in the full moon to the fields of fallen grains.

With this moon Aries, we welcome in the medicine of new beginnings and initiations. If you are in the southern hemisphere, this harmonizes with your Spring growth and if you are in the northern hemisphere, this polarizes with your Autumn descent.

Utilize the power of this moon for your deep growth. Because it is a super moon, this can intensify emotions, creating heat and friction. Use the energy of Aries Moon, coupled with the Sun in Libra to consciously to burn away what is no longer needed in your relationships and ignite new passion and ways of communication to create greater harmony and beauty in your life. It is time to initiate new boundaries and reclaim your power with artistic flare. Dance, sing, paint for both releasing of energy and to create that which you desire.

You are are guided and graced!

  • Be Still: With so much frequency shift happening now, simply closing your eyes to pay attention to your breath to pause for 5 minutes will do wonders for your nervous system (especially if you can do this 3 times a day, and longer than 5 if possible. Do what you can). Make sure to get a long and full sleep.
  • Burn It Up. Affirm Your Truth: Write a list of the mental baggage that is happening inside that mind of yours. Beliefs, stories, habits. All that you are done with! Free it up. Give it voice. Let it out! Let it go and burn it (safely) with a candle or campfire or fireplace. Then proceed to ritual below.
  • Artistically Activate Your Illumination: Let out your inner artist with being a critic. Do deeper from the above ritual and get creative with making a vision board or a painting or dance or write in your journal your truth, and all that you initiating and bringing with you into the next season ahead.
